i know

it’s been months and still 

he left and came back and now? 

he left again, you knew he would

maybe he never came back

maybe he wasn’t even there at all

i know it’s annoying

when i said it’s okay and i’m done

but please don’t mention his name

but how I stare blankly if you do

you think i meant it 

when i said it’s okay and i’m done

i’m hiding it but sometimes i ask

when will it end? when will it stop? when?

you say soon you say soon fucking soon

or you roll your eyes or sigh or both

cause it’s been months and still? 

or you just stare at me and say nothing

and wait until I switch topics

you say it’s just heartbreak
